Icelandic - Waffles

Serving: 3-4

Preheat the waffle iron.

Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Stir 2 dl of the milk into the flour mixture until the batter is smooth and lump-free. Do not overmix, as this will make the batter tough.

Add the oil/melted butter and the eggs.

Let the batter rest for a few minutes and add the rest of the milk if desired. The batter should be fairly thick.

Bake the waffles, spreading them out as they come off the iron and stacking them on a plate afterward.

Serve the waffles freshly baked with fresh berries, strawberry jam or Nutella and whipped cream or ice cream

  • 150 gr Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 2 tbs Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 200-300 ml Milk / Plant milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 tbs Neutral oil / Melted butter
