My grandma’s Chocolate Cake
- 1⅔ cups (4 dl) flour
- 1½ cups (3 dl) sugar
- ½ cup (1.2 dl) cocoa powder
- 1¼ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 125 g softened butter or ½ cup neutral-flavored oil
- 1 cup (2.4 dl) soy milk, cow’s milk, or another milk alternative
- 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar
- 3 eggs
Ingredients
- Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add the butter and milk, then mix in the eggs one at a time until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter into two round 8-inch (20 cm) cake pans or one 9x13-inch (23x33 cm) baking dish.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–35 minutes, or until a skewer or toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before spreading buttercream on top. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.

Simple Chocolate butter cream
2 cups powders sugar (about 5dl)
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbs water/coffee/milk
Method
Mix everything together with a hand mixer until fluffy and spread over the cake once it has completely cooled.
